Travel Thailand Tour holds TAT licence 11/09876 and is an ATTA member and IATA-accredited agency. Every booking includes compulsory Thai travel insurance with ฿1,000,000 medical cover; we recommend a separate policy for repatriation and cancellation.

Tourism Authority of Thailand
TAT Licence No. 11/09876, held by Travel Thailand Tour Co., Ltd. It is a licence to operate tours, not a certificate of quality — but without it a company is trading illegally, and a surprising number of sites selling Thailand tours do not have one. You can check ours on tourismthailand.org under the tour agent directory.
Insurance
Every vehicle we operate carries compulsory Thai passenger insurance plus commercial cover we buy ourselves — the legal minimum in Thailand is low, and we do not rely on it. Guides carry public liability. Activities with a higher risk profile (boat days, trekking) are covered by the operator running them, and we ask for their certificate annually.
This is not your travel insurance. You still need your own policy covering medical treatment, repatriation and cancellation — it is compulsory for every guest, and we ask for the policy number before departure.
Memberships
ATTA (Association of Thai Travel Agents) since 2011. IATA accredited for airline ticketing, which is why we can issue domestic flights directly rather than sending you to a booking site.
What a licence actually guarantees
That the company exists, is registered in Thailand, has met the capital requirement, and can be complained about to a regulator. That is worth more than it sounds when something goes wrong.
How do I verify the licence?
Search the tour agent directory on tourismthailand.org for Travel Thailand Tour, or ask us for a photo of the certificate — we will send it.
Are your drivers licensed?
Yes, with public transport licences and annual medical checks. They are employees, not contractors.
What happens if a supplier is uninsured?
We do not use them. It is the first thing we check when adding a boat or a trekking operator.
How to check any Thai operator in five minutes
Ask for the TAT licence number and check it on the Tourism Authority of Thailand's website — every legitimate operator has one and it is public. A licence number that cannot be found, or a company that gives you a "registration number" instead, is a red flag. Ours is 11/09876.
Second, ask who employs the guide and who owns the vehicle. Most websites are resellers: they take your booking, keep 30%, and hand you to a company you have never heard of. Third, ask what happens if it rains. An operator with its own vehicles rearranges the day; a reseller makes a phone call and hopes.
What our insurance covers
Every booking includes compulsory Thai travel insurance for the duration of the tour: ฿1,000,000 medical expenses, ฿500,000 accidental death and dismemberment, and ฿200,000 for luggage. It covers medical treatment in Thailand, not repatriation.
That is why we still tell you to buy your own policy: repatriation to your home country can cost $50,000, and cancellation cover is not included in anything we provide. Any travel insurance policy sold in your home country will be better than ours — ours exists because Thai law requires it, not because it is comprehensive.
