The route

Bangkok · Koh Samui · Koh Tao

Most honeymoon itineraries in Thailand try to include everything. This one deliberately does not. Two nights of city, six of islands, and one boat day that you can move to any day you like.

Days 1–2 — Bangkok, riverside

A suite overlooking the Chao Phraya, private transfer, and one morning of temples before the heat. Dinner on the river the second night — a table on the water, not a dinner cruise with a buffet and a DJ.

Day 3 — Fly to Koh Samui

One hour from Bangkok. The resort is on the quieter north coast, away from Chaweng. Nothing scheduled for the rest of the day.

Days 4–5 — Samui, unhurried

A private longtail to Ang Thong marine park one day, timed to reach the viewpoint before the speedboats. The other day is entirely yours — spa, pool, or the fisherman's village at Bophut in the evening.

Day 6 — Ferry to Koh Tao

Ninety minutes by catamaran. Koh Tao is smaller, quieter, and where the diving is. Afternoon on Sairee beach.

Days 7–8 — Koh Tao

A sunset boat with just the two of you and a skipper, leaving at 16:30 with fruit and something cold. One morning of snorkelling at Ao Leuk if you want it. The rest is unplanned on purpose.

Day 9 — Depart

Catamaran back to Samui, then the flight to Bangkok. We build a three-hour buffer for international connections.

Questions

About this route

Why the Gulf and not the Andaman?

The Gulf is calmer and warmer, with fewer day-trippers, and it is at its best January to August when the Andaman is in its windy season. If you are travelling November to April, the Andaman version — Two of Us on the west coast — is the better trip.

Is Koh Tao too backpacker for a honeymoon?

The south of the island is. We book the north-west, where the resorts are, and you will not see a hostel unless you go looking. It is also where the dive schools are, which is why people come.

Can we add a private dinner on the beach?

Yes, on Samui or Koh Tao, roughly $120–180 for two including a set menu. It needs two days' notice and is worth doing once.

Do you do the legal paperwork for a wedding here?

We arrange the ceremony logistics and the venue, and we work with a licensed celebrant. The legal registration itself is handled by a lawyer — we introduce you, we do not pretend to be one.

Tell us the date and the occasion.

We will tell you which coast is right for that month before we talk about hotels.
